How I started

My jewelry making adventure began in the early to mid 70’s as a child, when my mother would take me to various places to buy plastic and wooden beads, originally made to adorn your hair. I took these beads and began to make my own jewelry.  I made bracelets for everyone!

The desire to create stayed with me and later in life I began to make jewelry for myself and friends.  The creative desire evolved into an idea to sell my creations to the public.  CharMel Handcrafted Jewelry was born.  The name is derived from the beginning of my name and my mother’s name.

Today I make necklace sets, earrings as well as bracelets.  Natural stones and Swarovski crystals are used to create one of a kind jewelry.  I began selling my jewelry at craft fairs, private events and trade shows.  I now have a permanent place of business located at CRAFTED at the Port of Los Angeles.
